I just realized that it would be very easy for you to create an autocomplete widget. My idea is based on the dropdown spec.
With these settings we are able to setup custom data from remote dataset using URL
You can add a switch “Refresh data on search” (available only when Enable search is on ). When user set it on, instead of fetching dataset (by requesting Dataset URL) at component load, you do it when search input changed
