What is the feature?
In the travel industry, most times are stored, shown and edited as local times to prevent misunderstandings due to timezones. If a flight leaves on Sat, 28 Aug 2021 14:00:00 UTC +02:00, we would store Sat, 28 Aug 2021 14:00:00.
In Forest, times are always offset using the Timezone setting.
As a consequence, we decided to set our Timezone setting to Africa/Abidjan for all users, UTC+0.
This is now causing new issues, and we would like to switch our timezone setting to Europe/Paris.
Would it be possible, on a per-field basis, to indicate we want to ignore timezone offset ?
For example, I would set my departure_time field as ‘ignore timezone offset’ and my created_at or updated_at default fields as ‘timezone offset activated’
Who else would be using this feature?
I believe travel companies as well as companies managing local times in various timezones would benefit from this feature.
