We are expecting that smart relationships are working in version 7.9.2, but that is not the case.
We are facing already reported and resolved bug in version 7.9.2.
After we downgrade to 7.8.3 everything work as expected.

Sorry to hear you are facing an issue with Forest Admin.
At the end of the linked thread, the issue is said to be fixed in v8.0.1 and not before.
The fastest way for this to work on your end would be to upgrade your forest-express-mongoose package to this version.
