Feature(s) impacted

Integrating smart actions with n8n: Unleashing the Power of Automation: Bringing n8n to Forest Admin

Observed behavior

Cannot add a smart action through the forest control panel and select integration, also unable to change smart action added via code to use integration, see " Create the Forest Admin action" section in article.

Expecting to see “+ New” in Smart Action section of collection, and to be able to select “Integration” as a type and add endpoint URL

Context

  • Project name: DMI Admin CP
  • Team name: DMI
  • Environment name: production and development
  • Agent (forest package) name & version: forest-express-sequelize v9.3.5
  • Database type: mysql
  • Recent changes made on your end if any: have never tried this feature

Hello @Owen_Kavanagh,

The article you have linked references the ability that users, with an instant setup (Cloud), have to create Actions directly from the UI as they do not have access to the agent. You can find out more about it in this section of the user guide. I do understand that the article could be confusing if you were not aware of this subtlety, we will update it as to clarify this point.

On your forest-express-sequelize agent, you would have to declare smart actions in your code as you have done up to now. You could make it so that your agent calls n8n webhooks.

Best regards,
