Getting this warning banner on admin - “The agent version on which your project is running (v8.7.10) has reached the end of its life and needs to be upgraded.”
We currently don’t have any new feature planned on our development roadmap. Will it affect us even if nothing new is published?
If yes can we get a date when this completely stops working?
Thank you for reaching out. While there are no new features currently planned, continuing to use an unsupported version can lead to several issues in the future. Even if nothing new is published, critical updates such as security patches or infrastructure changes may no longer be provided, which could affect the stability or functionality of your project over time.
We recommend upgrading to ensure compatibility with any future changes and to avoid potential disruptions. As our development roadmap evolves, there’s a chance that future updates could break compatibility with older versions, including v8.7.10.
Although we can’t provide an exact date when support will completely stop, we strongly encourage upgrading to stay up-to-date with the latest improvements and avoid unforeseen issues.
For releases support information, please follow this specific documentation:
The end-of-life definition is pretty clear:
At this date, Forest Admin will not guarantee the agent will be usable. It is very likely that your agent integration will break your admin panel, as we will start removing some legacy features support on our platform.
So you’re navigating in an hazardous area, and must upgrade your agent version as soon as possible.
The upgrade from v8 to v9 is supposed to be quite easy with only 2 breaking changes to check in a few minutes.
