Hi.
In the Forest UI we can find “things” using a very useful search tool.
When this input field is clicked, an overlay is shown, where all the “things” are listed (colletions, workspaces, etc.).
Since a few days ago (not sure about the time), the overlay used to disappear as soon as one item is clicked, bringing the user in the view of the selected item
Now, when a collection item is clicked, the overlay does not disappear and it must be manually closed:
I can’t tell whether this is an unintentional bug or a desired feature, but I wanted to point out that we much preferred the previous behavior on our end. With this new behavior, an extra click has effectively been added, which becomes somewhat annoying during routine operations.
However, I am inclined to think that it is a bug because the overlay disappears as expected when I click on an item of type “workspace” or “dashboard”. On the other hand, it does not disappear when I click on an item of type “collection”. If it were an intentional feature, I would have difficulty understanding the rationale behind the decision to differentiate the behavior based on the type of item being clicked.
Hope you will appreciate our feedback
Thank you for a feedback,
Matteo
