Forest UI is not accessible and we all get this error:
What’s wrong?!?
Please help, we’re stuck
update: I’m the Forest Admin in our projects.
In the above screen, I requested access.
I receved an email and I approved my own request.
Now my ip have been whitelisted, so I have been able to step in.
In the forest settings I can see that the IP Whitelist was enabled.
Now I disabled it and everythin works
How is this possible?
Thank you,
Matteo
This only happened in our prod
environment. So it doesn’t look like a widespread issue.
But I can’t figure out why the IP whitelist was enabled.
I’m absolutely sure I didn’t enable it.
If something happened on our side, I’d appreciate if you could help in understanding what have been done wrong that I’m not aware of.
Or is it something that happened for some different reason??
Thank you very much.

PS: I edited the ticket title to better reflect the problem
Hello @Matteo,
It seems like the IP whitelist feature had been enabled on your project.
Since you are admin, you were able to validate your own request access.
I see on your project that multiple users have the admin role. Did you check with them to see if anyone could have activated the feature ?
hello @Nicolas.M
I think this is not possible.
To enable the IP whitelist, I now see that the UI requires me to enter at least my own IP (to prevent project locking). Fine.
When I authorized myself and the other request I received by email) I finally have been able to enter.
And there were only two IP addresses in white list: the two IP addresses that were stuck.
So, if I was stuck I couldn’t enable whitelist without entering my IP. The same for the other request. And we both have a static IP address.
How is this explainable?
I just had a try.
If I enable the whitelist, I can’t remove my own IP address from the whitelist. You did things well in order to prevent the silly-user auto-lock-out
But the only whitelisted IPs that I found, were the two IPs I authorized with the email links.
So nobody can enable the whitelist and then remove himself from the whitelist and there was no one in the whitelist but the users I enabled with the emails.
One IP is mine. And I neither had Forest opened!!! So, wasn’t me.
The second IP address belongs to a couple of users that are not ADMIN in Forest. So weren’t them.
So the question is: who did enable the whitelist?
This is someone who have been able to enable the whitelist without putting his IP into the whitelist… but I cannot reproduce this!
What’s going on???
Thank your for your help.

Our support team has reached out to you in private message.
After internal investigation, it seems like the issue may have been caused by an accidental activation of the IP Whitelist on your account, while editing your project settings on our side. Sorry for the inconvenience
Thank you @Nicolas.M
